Can you supply robotic solutions using other than ABB robots?
CKF Systems will integrate any major robot manufacturer into their automation solutions if requested, or if a particular robot suited an application. Our software engineers have experience in programming various robots either as a new installation supplied by CKF or modifications and upgrades to customers existing installations.
Are CKF prepared to integrate existing equipment into their solutions?
CKF would evaluate any equipment on site and would re-use / integrate existing equipment if required provided it met with the overall system requirements. Any interfacing with this equipment would be looked at by our engineering team and any electrical interlocking or safety circuits would be discussed and agreed.
What is the lead time on CKF’s robotic systems?
The delivery time on systems vary depending on their size and complexity. Typically a single packing cell could be supplied in 12 weeks, a palletising system with multiple robots would be 26 to 30 weeks and more complex / larger solutions could be around 12 months.
What Programmable Controllers (plc’s) do you use?
The majority of systems that CKF supply use either Allen Bradley (Rockwell) or Siemens plc’s but this is totally customer driven, both manufacturer and type. CKF however are totally flexible and can provide almost any make of plc providing it meets the specification and the requirements of the overall solution.
Does CKF Systems supply systems outside of the UK?
Although CKF Systems do not actively pursuing markets outside of the UK we often supply systems overseas mainly through recommendations and referrals, existing customers or other machinery manufacturers. Installations have included Poland, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Dubai, South Africa, Australia, Korea and USA.
Would CKF be prepared to undertake a design study on a potential project?
CKF would provide an initial review of a potential project free of charge, however on several occasions the customer has required a more in-depth study, preliminary engineering, computerised simulation or product trials and on those occasions CKF would undertake this against a defined cost.
