Skills and experience:

• Minimum HNC qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline.
• Experienced user of Autodesk Inventor, Vault and AutoCAD software.
• Knowledge of robotic automation, conveyor systems and general industrial automation desirable.
• Experienced in pneumatic controls.
• Related industry experience – food, pharmaceutical, warehousing or automotive preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team (and autonomously) to achieve end goals.
• Full Driving Licence.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide mechanical design and detailing resource to the projects team and wider business, working within defined project timescales and budgets.
• Carry out technical surveys at customer sites.
• Convene and contribute to brainstorming sessions / design reviews when required.
• Support the preparation of design risk assessments to ensure conformance to the latest standards.
• Provide technical support to the sales, proposal, projects and manufacturing teams.
• Communicate directly with our customers and suppliers.
• Assume limited project engineering responsibilities when necessary.
